Another lovely evening spent with fibery friends and tea.  We had a small but lively gathering with wheel spinning, sock knitting, more knitting and even some lessons going on ;)

Most important for here is the PARADE PLANS!  One June 28 Fiber eXchange Guild and Grinny Possum are co-sponsoring a float in the Charlestown Bicentennial Celebration Parade.  You guessed it, flatbed with spinners, knitter, crocheters, and other fiber folk.  If you would like to join us, send me an email (fiberexchangeguild@yahoo.com) or contact through the website (www.SouthernIndianaFiberArts.com).  We need a people number soon, so let me know today!  Or when you read this ;)

ForeverEmily (on ravelry) brought a new amazing felted bag to show off.  I wish I had remembered my camera!  When I say "felted bag" I feel I am not doing them justice.  She does amazing things with felted wool.  Just wait, you'll see.  If you are on ravelry, she has her first one pictured in her projects - go look ;)

Julie (as in Jewel, as in "House of Teas) was feeling the publicity love.  She made me a car magnet to advertise her shop.  I know, "how generous" with proper snide tone, but it has my girlie from years past.  We did a photo shoot of a tea party around her 2nd birthday ... magnet advert

so, yes, i will have one on my van ;)  But there were also t-shirts for Sharon and Ann!  I know, this would be more dramatic with more photos ... sorry ;)

A banner from the Grinny Possum marked the spot to meet at the first annual Great Steamboat Race Spin-In!  Yes folks, mark your calendar for next year.  What lovely weather for an outdoor spin-in!spin-in steamboat race

We were early - other folks did show up ...   more spinin

A smattering of fiber crafters sharing ideas,   stories and making plans for other gatherings.  Quite a few of us from the online community at Ravelry.com met up for the first time.  You recognize the conversations with sentences that go something like, "My ravatar is a knit chicken with red hair" and "My screen name is _____." or "I am SO changing my ravatar!"

I think the day's total was 7 wheels, 3 drop spindles and 3 knitters.  But it seemed there were more of us than that, ah well.

Oh, and there were steamboats ;)
