Join us at Hobknobb Roasting Company Saturday January 2 from 2pm to 4pm for fiber talk, fiber fun and great coffee!!  If you are interested in dying or spinning for Project 2010 this is a great time to pick up some fiber.  Bring any fiber arts project to work on or to share.

With December moving us along, the dying of fiber for Project 2010 will begin!  Many of the donated fiber batches are already dyed wonderfully ... but we also have several awaiting inspiration.  A few will be dyed to compliment others and some we are leaving up to fate :)

If you have contacted us about assisting with the dying, look for a personal email soon.

If you would like to be part of the spinning team and haven't emailed us yet, drop a note now and i will add you to the list.  We can get fiber to you in person or by mail, depending on distance, etc.

The soap workshop was particularly popular - we might offer it twice next year, so keep your eyes open for the list sometime in January!

A few new vendors joined us from around the region, some new to festival vending so we definitely had some great things not available anyplace else :)  Spaces are already filling fast for next year, so if you need an application, email fiberexchangeguildATyahooDOTcom and request one,

We have a great project already in the works for SIFAF 2010 ... more details to follow, but i promise it is fun and exciting!!

2009 is going to be a big year for Fiber eXchange Guild, Southern Indiana Fiber Arts and Fiber Arts all over the world!

UN declares International Year of Natural Fibres 2009 - WOW! 

If you know about existing plans OR have ideas for fun and exiting events or activities, please let us know.  Our website calendar lists fiber arts events from around the globe - you never know where the love of fiber may take you ;)

First I want to report on the wonderful collection of charity items.  Knot for You was a lovely success for the first year. 

An adult size blue and white scarf, a nicely textured red scarf, small baby blanket, adorable green baby sweater and a variety of preemie hats.  Packages are being addressed to share the love!

What a turnout we had for Southern Indiana FiberArts Festival 2008!  A couple new vendors said, "I had no idea I would do so much business!"  And the variety of fiber available was stunning.  Put next year on your calendar: Friday October 16 1pm-7pm and Saturday October 17 9am-5pm.  Look for new workshops and more activities listed on the website in days to come.

Just so you all know, festival plans are still moving along quite well - we are looking to welcome a huge crowd ;)  The fairgrounds is in good shape and I (along with MANY MANY more folks) am without electric at home.  Please be patient if you are emailing about the festival or are a vendor.  I am in town at the library every day to check email.

Projects of the night included a shrug, socks (lacey people size and a mini for a bookmark), one bag, a dishcloth (domino knitting anyone?) and a couple I can't recall (sorry, eek!).

For those of you who haven't joined us there before - or maybe it has just been a while - you should stop in next month and visit!  Jewel's moved to a larger location last November and has loads of room for spinning as well as knitting, crochet and whatever else you'd like to bring.
